CELEBRATING 30 YEARS OF FIRST FRIDAY

OLD CITY CELEBRATES 30 YEARS OF FIRST FRIDAY WITH DOCUMENTARY SHORT

Old City District celebrated 30 years of First Friday in Old City, Philadelphia with a new community-produced documentary short, which premiered on First Friday, May 6, 2022. The documentary, titled “30 Years of First Friday,” explores the origins of Old City as a gathering place for the city’s artists since the early 1990s. And it helps audiences better understand how a clever idea for unified neighborhood art openings quickly became a three-decade tradition that has  redefined the neighborhood, empowered local artists and galleries, and continues to center Philadelphia as an important and exciting contemporary arts destination.
