FirstGlance Film Festival, Philadelphia’s longest-running competitive indie film festival, announced the schedule for their 27th annual event slated for September 26-29, 2024, at the Film Society Bourse, 400 Ranstead Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106. The event features a curated selection of more than 40 new independent films by professional, emerging, and student filmmakers.
An enjoyable way to get exposed to a varied selection of film and festival culture, high points of the celebration include an opening night documentary program; diverse genres and themes including international films, female filmmakers, LGBTQ+, thrillers, dramas, comedy; Philadelphia, U.S., and world premieres; filmmaker interviews on the red carpet; networking opportunities and afterparties all weekend at the festival’s official hotel and party venue, Society Hill Hotel; a closing night live awards ceremony hosted by award-winning director/filmmaker and FirstGlance alum Raphael Sbarge from the TV series “Once Upon a Time,” and closing party at The Plough & The Stars.
With a strong focus on local filmmakers, fifteen films have ties to the Philadelphia area.
