The Center for Art in Wood presents A Curatorial Talk with Craig Edelbrock
Join the Center for Art in Wood for a talk with writer and woodworking historian Craig Edelbrock, curator of the Center’s current exhibition Spoons to Stir the Soul: The World of Norm Sartorius. Edelbrock is a woodturner and spoon carver under the mentorship of the exhibition’s featured artist, Norm Sartorius, and retired from an academic career to pursue his second passion as a craft writer. During this event, Edelbrock will give insights into preparing Spoons to Stir the Soul, which spans over 40 years of Sartorius’s work, as well as the behind-the-scenes process of researching its accompanying book. These undertakings, which beautifully document the artist’s 40-year career, include interviews with more than 30 people connected to Sartorius’s life and art, while revealing his creative process and inspiration.
