Extra-Human: The Sculpture of Michael Ferris is an “immersive exhibition of Michael Ferris’ larger-than-life figurative sculptures.” Trained as a painter, this Bronx, NY-based sculpture artist uses an inlay technique of his own making, inspired by intarsia woodworking from his Middle-Eastern heritage. Fusing reclaimed discarded wood and pigmented grout, these larger-than-life figurative sculptures embody a rich diffusion of cultural and artistic traditions. The exhibition, guest-curated by Suzanne Ramljak features many new works that celebrate the heroism of the people in our everyday lives.
