First Friday, June 7th @ Arch Enemy Arts

Arch Enemy Arts is open to the public on Friday, June 7th from 5PM - 9PM for the opening receptions of...

FUZZ PORTAL by Aunty Beast: Local puppet-master-extraordinaire Aunty Beast creates meticulously crafted plushies, puppets, pups, and beasts. Each is hand-sewn, wrought from another world, and imbued with their own life and personality.

CIRCUS FANTASTIQUE by Calamity Cole: Pop-surrealist Calamity Cole adorns her intricate watercolor, charcoal, and chalk pastel works with hand-cut glitter, flickering light from flat, matte dreamscapes that wax nostalgic for childlike wonder.

DEVOTIONS by Micah Ofstedahl: Bending light and form, Micah Ofstedahl paints glass-like shapes that warp the landscape in connective threads, pulling through and upwards like passageways through space and time. For Ofstedahl, the show references “a ‘devotion’ to the art, to the landscapes, and to nature.”

STAR GARDEN by Shannon Taylor: A series of fifteen miniature dioramas and thirty-one teardrop lockets, made from hand-cut watercolor paintings collaged and assembled inside gorgeous antique compacts. These are tailor-made for those seeking a little celestial intervention.

BOTANICAL DREAMSCAPE by Vasilisa Romanenko: Whereas Romanenko’s previous (sold out) collections took viewers to the artist’s native New England home, BOTANICAL DREAMSCAPE is an elegant exploration of the humid canopy at Earth’s equator.
