History Explorer Day Camp: “Revolution, The Game”

On Friday, October 25, 2024, kids are invited to join educators from the Museum of the American Revolution and fellow history-minded friends for a “Revolution, The Game” History Explorer Day Camp, a live action role play-themed program where participants can bring history to life and observe how their choices as a Continental soldier, British soldier, or spy can transform the course of history.

Picture the fall of 1777, and the British Army has taken control of Philadelphia. For the Continental Army soldiers, it is a defeat that they are eager to avenge, and for the British soldiers, it could mean the end of their long journey. However, for the spies who are running between them, it presents a chance to alter history. With the use of characters, maps, replica objects, and images from the Museum's exhibits, participants can create their own character and delve into history through missions, games, puzzles, and storytelling.

History Explorer Day Camp is a full-day, drop-off/pick-up camp that allows kids the chance to spend their day off from school in a fun, exciting, and educational environment, using the Museum, its collection, and the Museum’s Old City neighborhood as resources. This day camp is best enjoyed by children ages 7-11 years old.
