Opening Reception for Dennis McNett x Ben Venom "IF NOT NOW, WHEN?" at Paradigm Gallery
Paradigm Gallery + Studio is pleased to present IF NOT NOW, WHEN?, a two-person exhibition featuring the work of interdisciplinary artist Dennis McNett and textile artist Ben Venom. The exhibition demonstrates the motifs and do-it-yourself attitudes of punk lifestyle through each individual’s mastered craft. Dennis McNett highlights a skill developed in his multi-faceted printmaking career and creates ornate wood carvings depicting emotionally charged symbols and animals. Ben Venom considers cultural and environmental sustainability by taking items such as well-worn metal band t-shirts and jeans and arranging them into electric patchwork quilts. The exhibition will feature new collections of work along with collaborative pieces traveling between the artist’s studios. Both artists follow traditional artmaking practices as methods of storytelling and communication but with new context to reflect their urgency of preserving those very same traditions. IF NOT NOW, WHEN? will be on view on the first floor of the Paradigm Arts Building (12 N 3rd St) from September 6th through September 29, 2024, with a public opening reception on Friday, September 6 from 6:00-8:00 pm.
