This talk will provide an overview to Dr. Erika M. Kitzmiller's first book, The Roots of Educational Inequality, which explores the political, economic, and social factors that transformed American high schools and contributed to the broader escalation of social inequality in America over the past 100 years.
About Erika Kitzmiller:
Dr. Erika M. Kitzmiller is a historian of education and inequality whose scholarship examines the historical process and current reform efforts that have contributed to inequality today. Currently, I am a Term Assistant Professor in Education at Barnard College, Columbia University and a research affiliate with the Institute for Urban and Minority Education at Teachers College, Columbia University.
